小学，是孩子们成长过程中奠定基础的教育阶段。新加坡小学的生活是什么样的呢？不同学校的课程、活动是不是不一样呢？怎么帮孩子选择适合的小学呢？
新加坡政府中小学采取的是英联邦的GCE（General Certificate of Education）教育体系，强调培养学生的自主学习，批判性思考。
小学阶段会学习英语、母语、数学、美术、体育、德育、音乐，从小学三年级开始会加入科学。小学六年级结束，参加离校考试PSLE（Primary School Leaving Examination）。
课程体系是按照主课和副课进行分类，主课（英语、科学、数学、母语）是两节课连上一个小时，副课（体育、音乐、美术等）30分钟。
课外辅助课程（ Co-Curricular Activities，简称CCA）类似于国内的课外活动，但是其重要性却远远大于课外活动或是社团。
CCA作为学生的课程之一，在新加坡政府中小学是非常重要的，放学后必须参加。此外，CCA的成绩会影响学生的毕业成绩。学生可以根据兴趣和学术发展选择参加一个或者多个CCA。
