在前往的飛機上，我觀看了本土電影《我們的故事》。像美國的《阿甘正傳》和土耳其的《征服1453》，電影講述的其實是國家的故事，透過小孩視角回憶一個普通閩南家庭的過往，進而譜寫了整個國家、民族的衍變歷史。 和電影一樣，美術館都有自己的故事要講，尤其是那些以地標立命的美術館。 如果說中國美術館講的是黨國，美國的猶他美術館講的是西拓，那新加坡國家美術館要講的故事又是什麼? 2005年，新加坡總理李顯龍在國慶群眾大會演說中首提設立新加坡國家美術館的政府計劃。 2015年，美術館落成開幕，時至今日共藏作品8000餘幅。 從規模上講，這遠算不上顯赫，相較仍屬起步階段的中國美術館之20餘萬件藏品而言幾近屈指可數，但作為一座城市的美術館而言這已是成績斐然。 拋開數量看質量，新加坡政府對待藝術的態度是恭敬而慎重的，不惜將市區黃金地段的前最高法院大廈和政府大廈專門騰出，成就了今天高水準的國際性美術殿堂。 技法是工具，作品是媒介，透過20多個展廳對艱辛創業史娓娓道來，新加坡國家美術館試圖繪製著其民族身份的唇齒凝眸。 1945年，日據結束，新加坡重回英國管轄。1963年，根據公投結果，新加坡加入了由馬來亞、砂拉越和沙巴組成的馬來西亞聯邦。1965年，因新加坡與聯邦政府齟齬以及聯邦政府對新加坡華人過多而不易於統治的顧慮，新加坡被逐出聯邦，從此開啟了獨立創業的發展史。 殖民記憶猶新，貧苦尚存，民族身份的定義與國運茫茫構成了年輕國家自問的思緒，也繪出了新加坡國家美術館的收藏與陳列脈絡。 ![National
