新加坡國立大學前身，來源：NUS

**1905**：海峽殖民地與馬來聯邦政府醫學院成立。

**1913**：該校更名為愛德華七世醫學院，成為新加坡第一所高等教育機構。

**1921**：醫學院的地位提升，正式更名為愛德華七世國王醫學院。

**1928**：萊佛士學院旨在提供文理科高等教育。

**1949**：萊佛士學院與愛德華七世醫學院合併，成立馬來亞大學，這是新加坡人民和馬來亞聯邦的第一所大學。

**1955**：南洋大學，一所由私人資助的中國大學正式成立。

**1962**：馬來亞大學新加坡校區成為一所獨立學校，更名為新加坡大學。

**1980**：新加坡國立大學由新加坡大學與南洋大學合併而成。
