說道水龍捲，大家可能不怎麼清楚到底是什麼？

其實，水龍捲俗稱龍吸水或龍吊水等。水龍捲(waterspout)是一種偶爾出現在溫暖水面上空的龍捲風，

它的上端與雷雨雲相接，下端直接延伸到水面，一邊旋轉，一邊移動。飽含水汽快速旋轉的氣柱狀水龍捲，危險程度不亞於龍捲風，內部風速可超過每小時二百公里。

今早[新加坡](https://www.sgcn.com/)全島多個地區烏雲密布下起大雨，南部更是出現直衝雲霄的水龍捲，時間長達15分鐘。

許多國人紛紛拍下奇觀，在社交媒體上瘋傳討論，有的網民甚至誤以為水龍捲（waterspout）是破壞力更為強大的龍捲風（tornado）。

水龍捲實際上並不罕見，我國岸外的水域平均每年會出現三次水龍捲。

水龍捲一般由暴雨所致，由於雲層下的氣壓較低，強力旋轉的氣柱會把海水吸上來，卷上天空灰暗的雷雨雲，然後緩緩的移動。

水柱旋轉的速度可達每小時28公里，一般只持續10多分鐘，而且一著陸便因失去氣旋的條件而消失，不會對陸地上的人造成危險。
