2、加強個人防護，進入林區或野外時，要穿長袖衣衫，紮緊腰帶、袖口、褲腿，頸部系上毛巾，皮膚表面塗擦藥膏可預防蜱蟲叮咬，外出歸來時洗澡更衣，防止把蜱蟲帶回家。 蜱蟲是一種嗅覺動物，對汗臭和二氧化碳特別敏感，在15米的距離就能感覺到，男性在上山或者下地的時候，運動量大，出汗多，容易吸引到蜱蟲。 野外活動時，儘量穿淺色衣服，可便於查找有無蜱蟲附著。 衣物表面應當儘量光滑，這樣蜱蟲不易粘附。 平時儘量避免帶寵物進入未修剪過和未除蟲的草坪，如果帶寵物去郊外出遊做好體外驅蟲，隨身攜帶即時殺蟲產品，以防寵物將蜱蟲帶回家中。 可用乙醚、氯仿、旱菸油塗在蜱的頭部或在蜱旁點燃菸頭、蚊香烤它，數分鐘後蜱蟲就自行鬆口，或用凡士林、液體石蠟塗在蜱蟲的頭部，使其窒息，然後用鑷子輕輕把蜱拉出。 2、去除蜱蟲後傷口要進行消毒處理，如發現蜱的口器斷在皮內要手術切開取出。 3、在傷口周圍用2%鹽酸利多卡因作局部封閉，亦有人用胰蛋白酶2 000 u加生理鹽水100mL濕敷傷口，能加速傷口的癒合。 4、出現全身中毒症狀要給予抗組胺藥如撲爾敏、地氯雷他定、鹽酸左西替利嗪左或皮質類固醇如：米樂松、強的松等。出現蜱麻痹或蜱咬熱要及時進行搶救。如創面有繼發感染要進行抗炎治療。
