一.時態的表達方法
時態的學習我們從最初學習英語就開始了，但是可能同學們從未意識到的一點是：時態，除了在我們初高中英語課本上學習的「什麼時間用什麼時態」之外，還有一項重要作用：時態帶出時間。
1.現在我們總比過去好的多。
Anyway, things are much better than before.
(than before自然就是今昔對比，不用再有at present)
2.上海，目前完全有條件搞的更快一點。
Shanghai is another example. It has all the necessary conditions for faster progess.
(同理)
3.當前，全世界都在關注著我國的改革。
The whole word is watching the reforms in our country.
(is watching現在進行時，「當前」可以省了)
4.未來經濟發展在很大程度上取決於......
The development of our economy in the futurewill, to a large extent depend on…The development of our economy will depend on a large extent on….、
(對比兩句，will就是將來，所以in the future的時間表示可以去了)
5.過去兩個超級大國主宰世界，現在情況變了。
The worldused tobe dominated by two superpowers. Now things have changed.

6.過去沒有人知道淮河能夠徒步的......
Nobody had ever known that one could walk across the …...

二.數的表達方法
1.我們應該採取一系列措施......
We should adopta series ofmeasures to ensure that…We should adopt measures to ensure that...
(measures一個複數即是很多的意思，a series of 可以不要)
2.在這一時期，多種物資的供應嚴重缺乏。
Throughout this period, there was severe shortage ofa great variety of goods.
Throughout this period, there was severe supplies shortage.

3.深入實際工作對找到各種問題的解決辦法十分重要。
Plunging yourselves into practical work is very important for you to find solutions toall sorts of problems.
To solve these problems, it is important that you plunge yourself into practical work.

三.動詞性重複
1986年，國家教育委員會，衛生部文件：外國留學生和研究學者，須做愛滋病檢查，對堅持不接受檢查，且勸說無效的，不得安排學習。
The 1986 document of the state education commission and MOH states: foreign students, researchers, and scholars must undergo an AIDS test; persons who refuse and cannot beto do somay not be accepted for studies.
(請注意對於「堅持不接受檢查，且勸說無效」直接一個so,簡單清晰，如果讓大家寫，是不是有是一大串定語從句了呢)
四.名詞性重複
最後，20年來，中國發生了很大變化，包括中國的權利系統和中國的法律制度，但是，發生在中國的權利系統和法律制度方便的變化卻並沒有像有些人說的那麼大，甚至可以說，在這方面沒有發生本質性的變化，這就是中國官方說的政治體制改革滯後的問題。

五.用其他名詞做總結
堅持緊急建設必須依靠科學技術，科學技術工作必須面向經濟建設的原則，促進科技與經濟的有機結合。

六.省略漢語中的範疇詞
名詞性範疇，動詞性範疇。
先科普一下什麼是範疇詞：範疇詞是指漢語命名中傾向於加範疇的詞語，如 問題、狀態、情況、工作，有時本身沒有實質的意義，翻譯時可以省去不譯。
比如「貧富差距的問題」，如果直譯為「the problem regarding the wealth gap」 並沒有錯，但比較囉嗦，因為差距本身就是一個問題，因此在翻譯中可將範疇詞「問題」刪除，下面請看例子：
1.計劃工作
a serious mistake in the work of planninga serious mistake in planning
2.密切合作的關係
to ensure a relationship of close cooperation between…to ensure close cooperation between...
3.鋪張浪費的行為
we must oppose the practice of extravagancewe must oppose extravagance
4.採取......的態度
we must adopt the attitude of …..
we should admit …..
七.消除同義重複出現
這是通向富裕和繁榮的唯一出路。
This is the only road leading to affluence and prosperity.
This is the only road to prosperity.
