深痛悼念🕯️
詹姆斯庫克大學新加坡校區大學預科課程及高等大專課程負責人Ms.Gandhimathi Sundrum女士，因病於2022年8月14日逝世。
學校謹代表全體師生、校友對Ms.Gandhimathi Sundrum女士的逝世表示沉痛哀悼！
她的知識深度與她的經驗廣度相輔相成
Ms.Gandhimathi Sundrum女士於1979年畢業於新加坡國立大學，40多年來她一直獻身並積極深耕於教育領域的工作。除了在新加坡政府和非政府機構擔任教師和高級職位外，她還曾於杜拜的一所國際學校擔任過講師。
Ms.Gandhimathi Sundrum女士被大學的「多元文化環境所吸引」於2008年6月加入詹姆斯庫克大學新加坡校區，在被任命為詹姆斯庫克大學新加坡校區大學預科課程及高等大專課程負責人之前，她還曾擔任過詹姆斯庫克大學新加坡校區商科講師。
Ms.Gandhimathi Sundrum女士還具有著與外部學術機構合作的豐富經驗，包括劍橋大學考試委員會和新南威爾斯大學。這些任命進一步擴寬和深化了她在教育教學、評估和課程發展方面的能力。
Ms.Gandhimathi Sundrum女士的豐富經驗、知識和對教學的理解帶領著大學的預科課程成為了具有一個支持性的環境和高質量課程，百分之九十以上的同學們都能夠順利邁入學士課程。
她曾說「看到她的學生從預科課程畢業，順利繼續攻讀本科學位，是她最大的收穫。」
Ms.Gandhimathi Sundrum女士發現學生在剛開始需要被給予更多的動力，所以她總是積極地鼓勵他們在課堂上發言或提交作業。她會在課堂中多多留意那些她認為可能在學習上有一定困難的學生，並從日程表中抽出時間來幫助他們。
她認為學習的速度較慢並不是一件令人羞愧的事情，與此同時Ms.Gandhimathi Sundrum女士更喜歡關注學習過程，而不是結果。並且她相信鼓勵學生學習享受學習過程的課程，是幫助他們能夠在未來學習旅程中取得成就的關鍵。
她曾說「我願意隨時準備與這些學生密切溝通合作，為他們的學習設定切合實際和可實現的目標。舒緩升讀學位課程所帶來的焦慮，讓學生能更有信心地踏入接下來的學習。
她畢生都在用實際行動探索和踐行自己的教育理念。她希望在新加坡的土地上提供高質量的國際化教育，培養未來所需要的高端創新國際化人才。
學生說「She always wanted the best for us.」
她師德高尚、知識淵博、春風化雨、正直和善。她有問必答的精神更是讓每一個曾就讀過她的課程的學子深深感動。
回憶起與Ms.Gandhimathi Sundrum女士相處的點點滴滴，音容猶在，如沐春風。她深受同學們的喜愛與愛戴，在得知老師與世長辭的消息後，我們收到很多校友、在讀學生髮來的哀思與唁辭。

雖斯人已逝，我們無法讓我們失去的人回來，但沒有什麼能抹去Ms.Gandhi 留下的那些記憶。Ms.Gandhi 是一位敬業的教育家，一位富有愛心的教師，她在工作中給我們帶來了許多快樂。她給我們帶來的笑容永遠不會褪色。
願您安息吧。我們想念你。
We cannot bring back whom we lost, but nothing can erase those memories Ms.Gandhi left. A dedicated educator, and a caring teacher, Ms. Gandhi has shown us so much joy in her work. The smiles she bought for us will never fade.
Rest in peace. We miss you.

我們是Steven and Paul，都曾是 Ms.Gandhi的學生。我們來自中國，我目前在西安，Paul 在廣州，當我們聽到這個消息非常難過。我們對這位老師印象深刻，她是一位和藹可親的老師，對待中國學生都非常友好，也很照顧每一位學生，教我們了解了很多不同民族的文化，在異國他鄉求學道路上感受到溫暖。
在此我們沉重地悼念，希望老師安息。
We are Steven and Paul, both former students of Ms.Gandhi. We are from China, I am currently in Xi'an and Paul is in Guangzhou and we were very sad when we heard the news. Ms.Gandhi was very kind and friendly and treated all the Chinese students very well and took care of every student, helped us understand different cultures, and brought us a warm feeling on our way to study in a foreign country.

我記得她曾經教我們Communication and culture這門課，記得她上課的節點控制得十分嫻熟，何時正經嚴肅，何時結合課堂內容舉幽默詼諧的段子活躍課堂氣氛，加上她自身有不少親身經歷，分享出來就更加接地氣。
願她在天堂無痛苦。
I remember she taught us the subject of Communication and culture, and I remember that she was very skilled at controlling the pace of the class, when she needed to be serious and when she needed to enliven the class with some humorous quotes in relation to the study content. She also shared a lot of personal experiences, which makes her sharing in the classroom even more relevant.
May there be no pain in heaven.

當我聽到這個不幸的消息時，我深感難過，Ms.Gandhi女士是我在詹姆斯庫克大學新加坡校區就讀預科課程時最喜歡的講師之一，我仍然記得Ms. Gandhi女士給我評出的第一個高分，她為我的演講感到非常自豪，她會表達出她喜歡我的激情，喜歡我表達思想的方式。她有一種神奇的魔力，給我的學習帶來了難以置信的信心。她是我一生中最尊敬的老師之一。

I felt sad when I heard this sad news, Ms.Gandhi is one of my favorite lecturers at JCU during my foundation class, I still remembered my first high score given by Ms.Gandhi, she was so proud of my presentation, she loved my passion, loved the way how I expressed my thoughts. Somehow she gave me unbelievable confidence in my study. She is one of the most respected teachers in my life ever.

我還記得我剛來詹姆斯庫克大學新加坡校區的時候， Ms.Gandhi是我的大學預科課程第一門科目的講師。她耐心地指導和幫助我們這些初入大學的學生。她為我們的成功付出了所有的努力。
作為我們的老師，她一絲不苟，關心每個學生。有一次我生病了，兩個星期沒來上課，她發郵件詢問並安慰我。她說："Ula,，別擔心，我們會在這裡等你回來"。在Ms.Gandhi的指導下，我的成績有了很大的提高。
此時此刻，我們曾共同在預科課程所度過的時光，記憶中的快樂像秋天的黃葉一樣一片片地飄落。我將把我們之間的記憶保存在我的內心深處，並且我希望在我的生命中永遠記住這位偉大的老師!
I still remember when I just came to JCU, Ms. Gandhi was the first lecturer that I had for Foundation. She patiently guided and helped us who have just stepped into the University. She devoted all her efforts to the success of her students.
